CQC has published their State of Care 2017 report. This annual assessment of the health and social care sector in England looks at examples of care and identifies the factors that maintain high quality care.
The report shows the challenges that health and social care providers currently face and rises in the demand for services. Life expectancy is rising with an ageing population. Recruitment of staff is also shown to still be a problem and this is putting pressures on employees.
Across England, the quality of care is mostly rated Good but only 2% of adult care services are rated outstanding.
