Responding to allegations against staff

This self-assessment helps you reflect on your confidence in responding to allegations against staff or other adults in an early years setting. It focuses on safe, fair and prompt action in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage, Working Together to Safeguard Children, Local Authority Designated Officer arrangements, and local safeguarding procedures. It does not confirm competence. It does not replace formal training, supervision, employer checks, professional judgement or local policy. If you score 1 or 2 on any statement, treat this as a priority learning need. Follow your employer policy and speak with your manager, safeguarding lead, local authority contact or relevant senior person promptly before carrying out related tasks independently.
