This self-assessment helps you reflect on your confidence in supporting speech, language and communication in an early years setting. It can help you spot learning needs and plan development. It does not confirm competence and does not replace training, supervision, observation of practice, employer checks, professional judgement or local policy. If you are unsure about a child’s needs or progress, speak with your manager, supervisor, special educational needs coordinator or the child’s key person, following your setting policy.
