Working with unpaid carers

This self-assessment helps you think about your confidence when working with unpaid carers. An unpaid carer may be a family member, friend or neighbour who gives support without being paid as a care worker. This tool helps identify learning needs and areas for discussion. It does not confirm competence and does not replace training, supervision, observation of practice, employer checks, professional judgement or local policy. If you are unsure, speak with your manager, supervisor or the right lead person in your workplace.
